Individual therapy

Sessions can be conducted completely virtually so you can join from the comfort of your home. Your pajamas, beloved pets, and your favorite coffee or hot chocolate are always welcome. Sessions can also take place in person at an office location. Address: 258 Spielman Highway, Burlington, CT, 06013.

I view therapy as a collaborative and purposeful effort between two life travelers. I have a warm and supportive style, and I use an integrative approach in sessions. Therapy is a highly individualized process and can look different for every person, depending on preferences. Modalities offered:

-Internal family systems (getting curious about the various parts of you, helping wounded parts heal and making it easier to achieve goals naturally and navigate the world from a place of ease and flow)

-Polyvagal (learning about your nervous system’s states and stories, transforming your relationship with your body, befriending your nervous system to find your way back to well-being)

-Narrative therapy (viewing your problem as separate from your identity, exploring and deconstructing the stories of your life, re-writing a life story that is better suited for you)

-Cognitive behavioral therapy (identifying core beliefs, exploring the relationship between thoughts, emotions, and behaviors, changing distorted thinking patterns that are contributing to distress, using new coping skills)

-Attachment-based therapy (exploring how you learned to relate to yourself and others through your experiences with caregivers, understanding your attachment style, changing unhealthy relational patterns)

-Psychodynamic therapy (exploring family of origin and childhood experiences, connecting past events and unconscious thoughts with present-day impact on current decision-making, behavior, and relationships)

-Positive psychology (“the science of happiness”, focusing on strengths and tapping into your innate resources, creating a life of meaning and purpose)

-Case management as needed or requested (such as providing resources or collaborating with a psychiatrist, primary care doctor, or other healthcare provider)

Issues Addressed: anxiety, depression, life transitions, complex/developmental trauma, relationship difficulties, borderline personality disorder, academic and work challenges, mood disorders, identity confusion, self-esteem, binge eating, addiction recovery, stress management, spirituality, women’s issues.
