Hi, I’m Emily. While therapy is about you, it may help to know a little more about me. I am a licensed clinical social worker and psychotherapist who has a passion for helping people uproot what is no longer serving them and supporting them in providing nourishment for new growth.

I discovered early in life that listening to people when they were troubled, hearing what was underneath, and being a sacred witness to their stories came naturally.

I know that it is not easy, but is possible to uproot things like depression, anxiety, low self-esteem, perfectionism, unhealthy relationship dynamics, burnout, and feeling disconnected in the body. Having a growing sense of awareness of how we carry our past experiences/trauma around in our bodies is key to cultivating a new relationship with ourselves. Over time through nervous system regulation and intentional rewiring of the brain we can transform these experiences and even break generational cycles from a place of empowerment and purpose.

You may have an idea of what you need to do, yet action eludes you. You are not alone. We all get stuck sometimes. It is my privilege to support people in re-connecting to their wisest self to live a life that is authentic, empowered, and free.

My philosophy: The people I work with are the experts on their own lives and know their story best. Sometimes a fresh pair of eyes can offer a valuable reframe, new insight, or provide extra warmth and support in a tough chapter. I believe our bodies have a lot of untapped wisdom, if we are willing to slow down and pay attention.

My style: I am down to earth, I have a dry sense of humor, and I am gentle but direct. In sessions, I aim to be a soft place to land when life is hard as well as a bullshit-free guide to help you become the healthiest, most capable, and confident version of yourself.

My experience: I have worked in the social work field for fifteen years in a variety of settings including an inpatient substance abuse rehab, a group home for individuals with severe mental illness, various outpatient locations, and a group counseling practice.

My favorites: outside of session, I enjoy spending time with my family, snuggling my cats, volunteering at a local bookstore, hanging out with old friends and new books, thrifting, writing, nature walks, and playing ping-pong.
